Brooks Saddles

John Boultbee Brooks arrived in Birmingham in 1865 and set up a business making horse harnesses and leather goods. The direction of JB Brooks & Co. took a turn when the death of Mr Brooks’ horse led him to borrow a bicycle. He found the seat almost unbearable to sit on – so he decided to invent a better one. The company remained within the Brooks family, until becoming part of Raleigh in 1962. Brooks has broken away from Raleigh and now trades as Brooks England. It is recognised as a prestigious brand that combines timeless elegance and style with the latest in high quality manufacturing techniques. Our range of products – many of which are made in England – reflect the company’s rich heritage and traditional designs.
